From an early age I discovered the power of words and how the reading, hearing, and speaking of them affected how I—and others—perceived this complex world.

In undergraduate school I was an honors student in poetry and had the good fortune to have Hilda Morley (1916-1998), the famous Black Mountain School poet, as my outside examiner. This early deep-dive into the world of words, coupled with my later graduate degree, helped propel me into a formal study of editing as a career.

From the micro-level, finely-detailed expertise of proofreading to the big-picture work of developmental editing and manuscript evaluation, I am an accomplished and professional editor who partners with authors/clients to craft their best work. My deep knowledge of emerging "conscious language," and my expertise as a sensitivity/diversity reader, provides me with the skills to assist all who wish to communicate effectively without stereotypes.
